Three Reds play in Netherlands pre-World Cup friendly

Three Liverpool players started as the Netherlands lost 1-0 to Algeria in a World Cup warm-up game on Wednesday night.
Captain Virgil van Dijk was joined in the Dutch line-up by Cody Gakpo and Ryan Gravenberch for the friendly in Rotterdam.
Van Dijk and Gravenberch were both substituted at half-time, while Gakpo was replaced inside the final 10 minutes and shortly before Algeria scored a late winner.
The Netherlands' final match before the World Cup sees them meet Uzbekistan in New York on Monday, with their tournament opener against Wataru Endo’s Japan taking place in Arlington on Sunday June 14.
